Hiring people with disabilities can offer employers excellent benefits. However, employers often have many questions and fears about tapping into this pool of employees. In order for disability inclusion to be beneficial, employers need to understand the value as well as how to effectively do it. BetterWorkforce offers learning opportunities that help organizations to think strategically about disability inclusion and gives them the tools to be successful.

Community Workshops

Ten percent of college students have a disability. These workshops aim to raise awareness about the skills and perspectives of college graduates with disabilities. They are low cost and designed to support HR professionals and Diversity specialists in strategically leveraging disability inclusion. They are highly interactive and give attendees the chance to connect directly with professionals who have disabilities.

Customized Workshops

Many companies, especially federal contractors, would like more of their employees to disclose their disabilities. The best way to build a safe environment is to actively hire people with disabilities. These workshops are tailored to your company’s unique needs. We begin with a free Disability Inclusion Review and then develop a customized, competency-based training for your team(s). The advantage of a customized workshop is that the content is tailored to you and can be aligned with your business goals.

Disability Inclusion Project - Annual Event

The #1 barrier to employment for people with disabilities is ATTITUDE. In order to address this barrier, we bring employers and students/graduates with disabilities together to learn best practices related to disability inclusion, build relationships, and challenge attitudes about disability. This event takes place in October (disability employment month).
